This event was held on September 23, 2017 at Ferns Park, Woodland and hosted by the Woodland Muslim Mosque. There was a diversity of neighbors, delicious food, henna artists and field games for the kids. Main attendees were the Woodland Ecumenical Multi-Faith Ministries, or WEMM (organization consists of representatives from Holy Rosary, St Luke’s, Muslim Mosque, Woodland Presbyterian, Second Great Baptist, St John’s, United Methodist, LDS Mormon Church, and Woodland Christian Churches.).
Presentation made by Samina Sundas from Muslim Mosque about the American Muslim Voice Foundation http://www.amuslimvoice.org/. Their mission is to foster friendships among all Americans by bridging cultural and religious gaps. They also work towards protecting and preserving civil liberties and constitutional rights for ALL. General message is to move from fear to friendship.
On January 1, 2016 The Daily Democrat published Mr Saeed in the Clergy Corner section, “There certainly are some forces creating a culture of hate and intolerance, but peace loving silent Americans need to stand up to hate, get united and active to create a culture of peace, love and getting along. This hate can be won only through love and harmony which is the main objective of the American Muslim Voice Foundation.”
Majority of time was spent socializing with new friends within the community. As people began sharing their common interests, goals, and success stories of God’s work, the combined synergy seemed to grow ideas of what the next accomplishment could be.
